Ryan Haney

Ryan Haney took over the reins of the boys soccer team for Archbishop Ryan in 2016 and went on to win 11 games and make the playoffs in his first year at the helm. He is very excited about the upcoming season as several key players return for another campaign. He was the Head Coach for the Archbishop Ryan Girls Varsity Soccer Team since 2005; achieving over 169 wins in 11 years. He led the girls to six Catholic League Championships (2007, 2008, 2012, 2013, 2014 & 2015), five City Championships (2008, 2012, 2013, 2014 & 2015), the 2008 and 2012 PIAA semi-finals, the 2014 PIAA quarter-finals, and consecutive playoff appearances since 2006. Ryan holds a National D Soccer Coaching License; he has earned the 2008 Philadelphia Inquirer Southeastern High School Girls Coach of the Year and was voted High School Girls Coach of the Year by the Old Timers Association in 2007 and 2008. He was also voted the Northeast Times High School Coach of the Year in 2007, 2012 and 2014. In 2010, Ryan had the honor of being inducted into the Archbishop Ryan Soccer Hall of Fame.

A 1997 graduate of Archbishop Ryan; Ryan led the team to the Catholic League Championship in 1995 & 1996. He was named Philadelphia Inquirer, News Gleaner, Northeast Times and Southeastern Pennsylvania High School Player of the Year in 1996.  Ryan attended Temple University where he earned Philadelphia Soccer Seven Rookie of the Year, Philadelphia Soccer Seven All Star and holds a record for all time single season goals and points. He also attended Rider University earning All MAAC Tournament Team and led the team in scoring and assists.

Ryan is the soccer analyst and one of the co-hosts on SFBN's original all Pennsylvania soccer show, "In the Goooaaal!," airing Thursday evenings, LIVE on SFBN's Facebook page.
