Blackshear Finally Lands at Rutgers
A few weeks after decommitting from Temple, former Archbishop Wood running back Raheem Blackshear has chosen Rutgers as his desired school.
Blackshear originally committed to Temple in July, where his former high school teammate Anthony Russo, will be in contention for the starting quarterback position in the first season under head coach Geoff Collins.
Blackshear officially withdrew his commitment from Temple on January 24, and committed to Michigan State later that day.
Although he was committed to Michigan State, Blackshear flipped his commitment once again just five days later, when he decommitted from the Spartans on January 29.
With his official signing to Rutgers on national signing day, Blackshear became a member of his third team in less than two weeks.
The 3-Star recruit out of high school, Blackshear was p
art of an Archbishop Wood team that won the PIAA 5A state championship in 2016.
Blackshear will look to have an immediate impact on a Rutgers team that won just two games in 2016, and went 0-9 in conference play.
