SFBN High School Previews: Berks Catholic – PIAA District 3

Berks Catholic Saints are coming off a strong 2016 season, running right through section two of the Berks County Interscholastic Association. The Saints finished with a 12-2 record overall, including a 5-0 mark in conference play. Berks are led on offense by senior running back Cooper Lutz and junior quarterback Terrance Derr. Lutz has gained more than 1,600 yards and scored 24 touchdowns over the last two seasons. Derr’s career completion percentage is over 65, while throwing for a career high in touchdown passes last year with 14. The Saints defense is stout as well, earning three shutouts and forcing 26 fumbles last season. Moreover, with 70 players on its roster, the Saints will have fresh bodies.
