Pennsbury Falcons Emerge Victorious Against the Bensalem Fighting Owls
The Pennsbury Falcons started off fast against the Bensalem Fighting Owls on Thursday, September 28. Andrew Basalyga and James Hose led the defense on the first drive of the game, ensuring that Bensalem had a hard time moving the ball.
On offense, Zach Demarchis and Nasan Robbins helped lead the Falcons. Robbins scored a touchdown after a 5-yard run in the first quarter and Demarchis scored again in the second quarter after a 24-yard pass to David Burke, making it 14-0. Bensalem bounced back with a score after a 6-yard run by Keith Parrish III, closing the lead to 14-7 by the end of the first half.
During the beginning of the second half, Pennsbury’s defense made great stops and forced Bensalem to punt at the 09:41 minute mark after an initial penalty by Bensalem. By 09:00, Robbins earned his second rushing touchdown of the game, but the extra point was missed. This put the score at 20-7 in the third quarter. Demarchis scored again in the third quarter as well after a pass to Austin Palmer, making it 27-7. The final points of the game for Pennsbury came after the ball was fumbled by Drasaun Moore, rolled into the end zone and recovered by Pennsbury’s defense.
Although Bensalem would score again in the fourth quarter after Moore made a 10-yard run for a touchdown, it was already too late.
