Bartram stays undefeated after Overbrook victory
John Bartram routs Overbrook and remains undefeated putting up 56 points in a tremendous victory over their longtime rival.
The Philadelphia Public League produces a ton of talented players that excel in the next level so a match-up like this can be very exciting. John Bartram beat Overbrook 56-12 which in turn secures their undefeated record with two games left in the season.
Bartram has looked very good in the first half of the season winning big against their public league counterparts which all are tough opponents in their own right. However, Bartram has been cruising after beating Archbishop Ryan 22-21 to open the season, and they have controlled their destiny.
Bartram proves once again that they are a serious contender for a Public League championship.
Overbrook falls to 2-5, continuing a reoccurring theme for the Panthers of consecutive losing seasons.
John Bartram coach Jim Chapman is impressed with his guys and eager to finish the season looking forward to the playoffs at 7-0 on the season.
Overbrook coach Randell Ivory is faced with a 2-5 season with only two conference games remaining, the lack of consistency has haunted the Panthers program once again. Earlier in the season, Overbrook lost to Prep Charter 2-0, so a disappointing season nonetheless.
Overbrook is 2-5 and has a chance to turn their season around with three conference games remaining including the thanksgiving showdown against West Philadelphia.
John Bartram is in control of their own destiny sitting at 7-0 and having high hopes to achieve an undefeated season and place them as the #1 seed in the Public League 4A playoffs. Bartram has two games - one a breeze through against Prep Charter and a very interesting match-up versus Mastery North. In the upcoming weeks, high school playoffs will be seeded and teams like John Bartram will begin their run to more than just a conference championship.
