New Hope-Solebury Runs Away with the Victory Over Cheltenham Girls Soccer

Coming into this non-conference game yesterday, the New Hope-Solebury Lions sat high on their 8-4-1 record knowing that their competition has won only one game all season. However, they were not going to let their guard down. They came out firing on all cylinders.

That is exactly what they did. Within the first minute, Samantha Kruopas gave the Lions their lead. She added to that lead again with 30:30 left to play in the first half. Cheltenham was not going to roll over and make it easy. Number 14 knocked one in with 25:12 left in the first to make the score 2-1. Maddie Hausner and Samantha Kruopas fired back, both scoring before the end of the half.

Coming into the second half with a nice lead, NHS decided that they weren’t done yet. Within the first 10 minutes, Taylor Kruopas decided to join her sister and headed one right past the goal keeper. Cheltenham’s #6 followed that with a goal with 15:07 left in the half, but that would be the last of Cheltenham’s attempts to come back.

NHS ran away with this 5-2 victory and now moves to 9-4-1, whereas Cheltenham is 1-14-0. There are only a few more games left in the regular season. Although Cheltenham will probably not make the playoffs, let’s see what happens to the Lions of New Hope-Solebury.
